Lake Tahoe
Spanning the California/Nevada border, North America’s largest alpine lake is world famous for crystal clear water, brilliant blue skies and snapshot views. Thanks to sunshine 80% of the time and average daytime of 80 degrees F in the summer and 36 degrees F in the winter, the weather is perfect for outdoor recreation in every season. At River Run, you’re never far from your favorite pastime.
Summer
How close are you? You can fish from the river bank, take a swim in our outdoor pool, relax in the spa and sauna, try a little river rafting or play tennis on our court. Around the corner, pick up the Tahoe City Public Utilities bike trail for a leisurely bike ride or a little roller-blading. Other nearby trails will take you back-country hiking and mountain-biking. Or, it’s less than four miles to the lake for a day on the beach and a long list of water sports from wind-surfing to water-skiing.
Winter
When the snow flies, you’re less than 3 miles, by shuttle or car, from the downhill challenges of Alpine Meadows and you’re less than 5 miles, by shuttle or car, from world class skiing at Squaw Valley USA. Several smaller family resorts are also nearby, Homewood and Northstar. Not to mention three cross-country ski centers including the countries largest, Royal Gorge along with Squaw Valley USA and Northstar.
